The Get Real Marketing Series 2023: ep#2 ‘Why You’re not Seeing Results with your Social Media’

Chris Daglis, Managing Director and Georgia Carver, Social Media Director sit down to bring us the 'Get Real Marketing Series'.

In this episode Georgia explains why you may not be seeing results from your Social Media efforts and Chris explains what we define as a ‘good customer’.

*Key Takeaways

  • Many yards are tasking their social media management with a staff member or family member and it’s not their primary role or skill set.

  • Successful social media management is a specialist skill.

  • You need to be working on it every day and requires a full time, trained specialist to achieve results.

  • Social media needs to be consistent, regular and active

  • It is a slow burn and doesn’t always return immediate KPIs, but it is a necessary part of business now that we live in an online world.

  • Customers are researching you online before they have even made contact with you. And this can be at any time of the day or night.

  • If a potential customer is looking you up online and you have a great website, up to date and active social media and you’re ranking high in google they’re going to choose you over a less active competitor.

  • We define a good customer in our business as someone who is engaged. Someone who is invested in their success. It is in this way that we can get results which in turn makes our customers happy.

  • Think back to when you first started your yard – you had to make investments in cars, staff, property, etc. None of these things brought you an immediate return, but you knew that they would eventually. Without them you had nothing. It’s the same with social media. You start making the investment now. Investing time and money, and in time you will see the returns. More customers, returning customers, good reviews, great reputation – the list goes on.....
